DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

For Indian Customers-

  • Valid Driver’s License- A valid Indian driving license is required; make sure user’s license is not expired.
  • Proof of Identity- User will need to provide at least two valid proof of identity, such as Aadhar card, Pan Card, Passport or Voter ID card.

Foreign For Customers-

  • Valid Passport- A valid passport is typically required for foreign customers as proof of identity and nationality.
  • Valid International Driving Permit (IDP): Foreign customers are required to have a valid International Driving Permit in addition to their country’s driving license.
  • Visa and Entry Documents: Depending on the user’s country of origin and the duration of stay in India, user needs to provide the appropriate visa and entry documents.            

GENERAL TERMS

1 To book a self-drive vehicle, the rental start date and time, as well as the end date and time, are typically required. These details indicate the duration for which user will rent the vehicle. It’s important to provide accurate start and end times to ensure proper scheduling and availability of the vehicle.

2 All bookings have to be made solely by the registered user through our website or by calling us directly, well in advance and prior to pick up time.

3 Rented vehicles are without fuel, this means that when renter will pick up the rented vehicle, it will have partially filled fuel tank. It is the responsibility of the renter to refuel the vehicle during the rental period and return it with the same fuel level as when it was received. If the renter returns the rented vehicle with lower fuel level, then the renter is liable to pay fuel charges. There is no reimbursement on any extra fuel that may be there at the time of return of vehicle, hence we request the renter to fill as much fuel as would be needed for their trip.

4  A 24-hour prior notice is a typical requirement to inform our team about renter’s intention to extend the rental period, moreover extension will be granted only if the vehicle is available for the requested period of time.

5 Advance security deposit of INR 2000 to INR 5000(depending upon the class of vehicle and the type of rental) will be collected at the time of vehicle handover  & same will be refunded back into renter’s account within 3 working days subject to the car condition and fuel level. If there are any damages, accidents or violations during the rental period, we will deduct the corresponding cost from the security deposit. The remaining amount will then be refunded to the renter. 

6 Returning the car late will result in additional charges, a delay of 30 minutes over the rental or buyback period is permissible for the return of possession. In the case of further delay or unapproved extension, the user will have to pay 50% of per day rent amount along with a fine of 500 INR. Therefore it’s important to adhere to the agreed-upon return time to avoid any penalties.

7 The Client will be fully responsible for any traffic violations (Challans), Taxes, Roadside Assistance, Parking charges and Tolls incurred during the rental period. Thunder will not be liable to pay any amount on any account including Compensation claims.

8 Rates are subject to change without prior notice.

9 Vehicle shouldn’t be used outside India or for any illegal activities such as committing crimes, transporting illegal substances, or engaging in any other illegal activities can result in criminal charges, fines, and potential imprisonment if convicted. The severity of the penalties depends on the nature of the illegal activities and the applicable laws in the jurisdiction. The renter will be held financially liable for any damages caused to the vehicle or third parties during the commission of illegal activities.

10 Vehicle should not be operated by any other person who is not authorized for listed as an additional driver, only approved individuals with valid driver’s license and adequate driving experience can operate the vehicle.

11 Customer will be given a test ride before the journey begins. The purpose of this test ride is to get you acquainted with the vehicle and is expected to inform the executive immediately in case of any damages, malfunctions, missing parts etc. We won’t be held responsible for any malfunctions caused in the rental period.

12 In case the user has left any belongings, the company will try its best to return the same to the user however the company cannot be held responsible for the loss of any items due to the negligence of the user.

13 We have a specific billing cycle and rates are based on a calendar day that runs from 9 PM to 9 PM (24 hours). This means that the rental period will be calculated based on this cycle.

14 The speed limits for vehicles are governed by the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and its subsequent amendments. In case of exceeding the speed limit above 120 KMs per hour on expressways or controlled-access highways, 80 KMs per hour on non-urban roads or highways and 50 KMs per hour in urban areas or within city limits, there will be fine charged depending on the severity of the offence. 

15 Violation of TOS will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement including additional penalties and no refund of the security deposit.

16  By using the service, the customer is deemed to have accepted and agreed to abide by the rules, guidelines, and obligations outlined in the terms and conditions.

17 You hereby guarantee that all the information and documents provided by you are true and correct to the best of your knowledge and information and if any of this is found to be false/forged/fabricated then Thunder reserves the right to immediately cancel the booking and do the needful.

18 A reservation deposit or prepayment is required at the time of booking to confirm the reservation. The remaining balance of the rental fee will be taken upon the pickup of the vehicle. All the payments are settled before the rental period begins.

19 We do not allow customers to place any kind of external branding or advertising materials on the vehicles. This includes stickers, decals, wraps, or any other modifications that alter the appearance of the car’s exterior.

In case of any external branding, the customer will have to pay a penalty of Rs.5000/-.

20 If an accident occurs and the rented vehicle is no longer drivable, Please ensure you choose an alternative vehicle, sometimes situations are beyond our control. If you don’t wish to choose an alternative option in that case we provide 100% refund to the customer.

21 All confirmed rental reservations are non-refundable as there will be no refund for cancellation of bookings post advance payment.

22 If any booking is cancelled by Thunder due to non-availability, a full refund will be initiated. The refunded amount will reflect in the customer’s bank account within 3 business days.

23 One complementary helmet is provided with the bikes without any charge. In case of additional requirement, Customer will have to pay INR 100 per helmet.

24 Please treat our staff members with the same respect, courtesy, and professionalism that you would like to receive yourselves. Abuse of our staff in any medium or form will result in immediate termination of our services and no refunds shall be given.

25 We provide round-the-clock customer support to assist you with any queries, concerns, or emergencies that may arise during your rental period. Our customer service team is 24/7 to address issues related to reservations, vehicle pickup or drop-off, billing enquiries, roadside assistance, and any other rental-related assistance that customers may require. We have also implemented security measures such as GPS tracking and immobilizers to ensure the safety of the vehicles.

26 Thunder allows customers to drive the rental vehicle without any mileage restrictions or additional charges based on the distance traveled. We offer various rental durations, including hourly, daily and monthly rentals. This flexibility allows you to choose the duration that suits your needs.

27 In case of loss or non-return of the vehicle key, a penalty ranging from INR 10,000/- to INR 15,000/- depending upon the original or duplicate key shall be imposed on the customer.

28 Customer is responsible for returning the vehicle in a clean condition. If the vehicle requires cleaning beyond a reasonable level of normal wear and tear, additional charges will be imposed to cover the cost of cleaning services.

29.The user agrees not to use the rented vehicle for off-road driving, racing, towing, or any other prohibited activities that could increase the risk of damage.

30.The user assumes full responsibility for any damage to the rented vehicle during the rental period. The User/Rider agrees to pay for any damage to, loss of, or any theft (disappearance) of parts of the vehicle, regardless of cause or fault. Items damaged beyond repair will be paid for at their Market Price.

31.The user is not allowed to make any alterations or modifications to the vehicle without prior written consent from our company.

32.In case of any damage to the vehicle, if user acquires for insurance then user must have proper valid documents required to claim first party insurance. User will have to pay an amount equal to 70% of the rent for the total numbers of days that will be spent in getting the vehicle repaired. User will also have to pay a security deposit amount equal to the damage caused and same will be refunded back after the insurance is claimed.

33.Thunder holds all the rights to make amendments in the existing terms and conditions at any point in time.

34.In case any theft occurs, the user must inform the company immediately as well as file a complaint at the nearest police station. The user will be responsible in case any wrong or less information is shared while filling the complaint. Also, appropriate legal actions will be taken by the concerned authorities.

35.Apart from the vehicle, the user must ensure the safety of all the equipment provided with the vehicle. In case of any damage or loss of equipment, the user shall be charged accordingly.

36.In case a GPS navigation system is present in the vehicle, the user is responsible to carefully handle the equipment and secure it in the glove box. In case of theft or loss of the device, the user shall be charged accordingly by the company.
